Well, if you believe a man who's peers were living to at most 35, lived to the ripe old age of 900 something then I guess the rest of the flaws fall away.

Well lets look at it logically. In todays world people we have a 60% divorce rate. So i guess people back then knew what committment meant where as today most of the population doesnt.
Lets also look at technology. America, the most technologically advanced civilation that ever existed, can not do today what Alexander the great did in 300 B.C. Hold a country and get the people to love him. Hell...we cant even get our own country to love George Bush and we cant even stop the terrorists in Iraq from attacking. Do you think when Alexander the great conquered Iraq (babylon) that there were splinter cells attacking here and there? No there werent.
So it just goes to show you that men of 1000s of years ago must have known more than you think they did.

You can't equate technology with knowledge. Have you ever investigated the Pyramids, or the Mayan Temples? The pyramids are perfectly square. The Mayan Temples are put together like a jigsaw puzzle. The stones are cut so precise that you can't even slide a playing card between the cracks. And some of those stone weigh more than 20 times what are modern day cranes can lift. How did they do this? They even had electricity back then! Check it out at www.drdino.com before you start name calling!!

how can men today assume they know more than a man of 1000 years ago .. keep in mind the technology boom is a recent thing in the last 100 or so years .... it doesnt necessarily point to a higher IQ just a knowledge of silicon and explosives ...

why not combine the myth with reality and live with the comfort of a happy medium? its not the lifestyle I've chosen, however its certainly more wise to accept the physical and the spiritual at the same time rather than reject the physical.

Well, if one of those ancient Pagans hadn't named the 7th day in celebration of the Sun God, the Christians wouldn't know when to go to Church. Just ask them right out, "Do you go to Church on Suns Day?"

We tend to scoff at the beliefs of the ancients and thats what bothers me. I wish they were here in person so that we could scoff directly in their faces.
