see i like this guy who clearly doesn't like me, but i still have that burnig passion for him and no matter how hard i try i just can't get over liking him what should i do- should i not like him anymore and how, or should i keep on liking him knowing he doesn't like me

How to get over him? There is no easy way. But one of two things will happen: either you'll meet somebody else who you will like a lot and will naturally forget about this guy, OR, you'll get tired of the continuous pain in your heart and will eventually wake up and quit living a fantasy, thereby torturing yourself. :-)

You can't make another person love you. You only have control over what you personally do.
Focus on work, study, and perhaps get a hobby or a pet.
Get a life, and go on without living a lie.

Until you ask him if he has an interest in you, you will remain "hung" in thought. If you are certain he is does not like you then understand however long you remain "hung" in thought is the time in which ANY opportunity for another to enter your life.

You can't force yourself to not like him, you're going to regret it, I'm sure. Anyway, continue to like him and be friends with him. Even if he doesn't like you, at least you have your friendship.
