NOTE: Hindi is not THE ONLY language spoken in India, but it is the main language. And it is technically classified as ONE language (though dialects do exist) because the CIA World Factbook lists HINDI as the fourth most spoken language in the world.

FOR YOUR COMPUTER: If you want help to put your keyboard in English AND Hindi script (sanskrit), just ask. My keyboard can switch from English to Hindi to Portuguese to Spanish.
IN ADDITION... MUSIC AND MOVIES AND LYRICS
You could find bollywood movie clips with English subtitles online... or search for music tracks (from bollywood movies) on dogpile (click on "audio"), download the music links, and search dogpile or google for the lyrics. Then listen, watch, and read along!
Youtube used to have a number of great bollywood movies with English subtitles, but they were removed. Still, if you search "bollywood" and "english subtitles" on Youtube or on Veoh you'll come up with something.

Honestly, your best bet may be a book. I found one at my local library. It is very difficult. I gave up a while ago...got too much going on for all that! But good luck. It is a beautiful language. You might also check around where you live. I know some big cities may have residents that speak it and would be willing to teach you, or a community-based language program. We have some around here (but no Hindi).

thast where the trouble begins.
'hindi' is a blanket term for all the hundreds of dialects in india, and almost every village and city has its own dialect. i would satart out with a common dialect, then, if you are relocating to india, find out where you will live, and learn the dialect of that place.
