Renault has no plans to return to the USA...as far as I know. They used to sell their cars here years ago. They would open up a dealership only to close it a few years later due to lack of sales. My dad has owned quite a few Renaults in the past...R16, R8, Dauphine, 4CV (dad currently has a "hot rod" in the garage), R10. He likes them, so do I. One of the reasons they left is because of our government and the other is because of the American mentality about the French being incapable of building a decent automobile which lead to a lack of sales.
My favorite modern Renaults are the Twingo and the Clio. I've never seen a Twingo in person, but I have seen the Clio on the street. Neat little car. Yes, I wish Renault would return to the USA.

French automobiles have never been very popular with American motorists. That is why they aren't sold here. No market for them.
