All religions are fear based. If you don't follow them you spend eternity in their hell.

Is Xanity a fear-based cult?
Yes it is.
To the person who said "Dont knock it till you try it" - that is my point exactly. I am no longer a christian precisely because I did try it.
I grew up with christianity - I had no choice in that. I chose to reject it. Yet you still persist in telling me I am wrong.

What's wrong? Are you afraid to say "CHRISTianity?" lol
no, btw - it isn't a fear based cult.
Christianity is the faith based on us acknowledging our rightful place before God, respecting him as our Savior and King, admitting we were/are in need of Salvation; and that it has only been made possible through Jesus (a.k.a. "Christ" - that word you're avoiding to say) dying on the cross.
- sort of a respect & admiration based faith with a healthy dose of humility ... not fear.
don't knock it 'til you try it. lol
**note to 'Sidwell' : Growing up with Christianity forced upon you isn't "trying" it ---- Christianity requires willfull obedience/practice, in order to really take it in. What you're speaking of is merely being 'subjected to it as a spectator...' Trust me, irregardless of what impressions it left with you from "seeing/hearing" it; The REAL thing is awesome!
God bless.

Cool question! I like the way Jesus said, "How readest thou?" and "By thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." It's all however You make it. Jesus even said "the Sabbath was made for man." Christianity at its best is the most freedom loving, freedom promoting orientation in the world.

What keeps you from stepping in front of a moving train? FEAR???? Or do you just realize the outcome and avoid this action?
What keeps me from spending eternity in Hell? I realize the outcome and avoid this option.

It can be, but it wasn't meant to be. Perfect love casts out fear.
