How can I convert an MS Word file that I converted to a PDF file BACK into an MS word file?

I'm so frustrated. My boyfriend had saved the MS Word document on a disk which he then carelessly left on the FLOOR. It now has a giant scratch in it. The people at lulu.com are now telling me that I can directly upload my MS Word document... the one that's on the scratched disc that I can no longer bring up. I'm so ticked off because I spent hours and HOURS trying to format this stuff to lulu specifications. Only for my boyfriend to carelessly leave the disc on the floor for it to be scratched. I could wring his neck, I SWEAR. This document has a special format as well, so if you say cut and paste.... and that's all I can do, then give it to me gently. Will I have to spend hours more on this? I'm sick of it.

First - be nice to your boyfriend. Even though he was careless with the disk, I'm sure he is not with you...right?

Other than copy/paste, you can load up the pdf and print it to "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" (assuming you have office). You can then OCR it to Word. The formatting sometimes really sucks, but it is a start.

Last option, download the 60 day trial of the full version of acrobat from adobe (assuming you havent done this before)

I just looked and don't see any option but cut and paste. You could try print then scan with OCR, but cut and paste is probably faster. A scratch in the disk may not be fatal, try it in a different machine, try to copy the file to your hd instead of opening it, or give this a try (I have never used it)
