Why stop at trying to remove it from public schools? Why not try to remove it where it really matters?
While we're at it, we can remove all medicine and medical tools from every hospital in the country and replace them with prayer books and crosses.

People would actually suffer or die by the thousands if we truly banned the teaching of evolution on a nationwide basis: we would no longer bother with making new antibacterials or vaccines, for example, because we wouldn't need to worry about new strains of bacteria or viruses evolving; we would have to toss out the entire field of genetics, with its enormous potential for curing horrific diseases; we couldn't study or learn about the similarities between different groups of organisms, using information from one group to help improve our understanding of another (e.g., mice and humans); etc.

Why stop there? Why give soldiers weapons when they could have the power of prayer and the armor of faith?
Why should any academic discipline have any textbooks, or any books at all other than the Bible- doesn't the literal, inerrant word of the immutable and only true God have enough to satisfy us?
Why should we have farmers? Won't God provide us with manna from heaven?
Why should we have churches or priests? Doesn't God speak to us through prayer?

Removing any teaching is bad. Banning the addition of teachings is worse. Knowledge and letting people actually think for themselves is the way to go.

well said... When ever things go well people give god credit but when things go wrong its the science fault and god is punishing us! plz give me a break. I don't think they should ban evolution from school, actually i think thats the only thing that should be taught. Enlightenment is based on facts not some half baked stories and myths.

Because most medical schools aren't publicly funded, so they cant be swayed by the public into teaching something that isn't scientifically backed up.
