Of course it's not true. I gave a little girl up for adoption when she was 2 days old, because I loved her enough to know that I would not be able to give her what she needed to grow and be happy. If your birth mother cared enough about you to carry you to term and give you to a family who wanted a child - and could afford to raise a child -- she gave you and your adoptive parents an absolute gift. Don't ever let anyone tell you anything different.
The girl who told you that is an idiot. Her parents probably don't love her, even though they gave birth to her ;-)
(PS -- my "little girl" is 18 now, and we just met for the first time last month. She knows I was always thinking of her, and hoping for the best for her.)

That girl is cruel and some day she will pay for her untruthful and ugly words. Your parents had to love you more than you could ever imagine to give you up for adoption. They gave you up so to speak most likely so you have a future in life they couldn't give you. They weren't being selfish and making terrible decisions. They thought of you and that's true love of a parent to look at the best interest of the child. Your adoptive parents are your parents now and they lucky to have you and you them. Don't let some mean jealous girl hurt you and do not let her know any of your personal life anymore, just stay away from ignorant people, and if anyone speaks to you like this anymore walk away and never speak to them again it will be their lost friend and they don't deserve to have you as a friend.

No, it does not mean you were not loved. My cousins adopted a girl because they were not able to have children. Her parents were young teens who could not afford to raise her and it broke their heart to have to give her away. Others financially cannot afford to take care of them and know they would have a better life with another family. No one knows the reason your parents felt they had to give you up for adoption, but they did what they felt was best for you and that in itself was an act of pure love. They could have terminated the pregnancy but chose to give you life and gave you to the parents you have now. Does that sound like someone who didn't love you?

I'm sure your mother went through a very hard time deciding to give you up for adoption. I think that would be the hardest thing to do, but if I couldn't take good care of a baby I would have to give her up too. I might be your biological parents wanted you to have a good life with a couple that had enough money to take care of you and wanted a baby to love.
Think positive and you'll feel much better.

Sometimes people are as subtle as a jackhammer! Adoption is a spectacularly powerful expression of love. For many reasons, and, for everyone involved. First, lets explore the birth mother. She may have been very young, ill-equipped, unprepared or unable to care for the child she was bringing into this world. It takes a great amount of love, to consider the needs of the child, before the needs of herself. And, then, for a perfect pair of strangers to seek you out, and, make the conscious decision to love you as their own. What love! One sacrificial, and, the other, unconditional! Why let the callous remark of anyone impact the fact that everyone involved, gave you the greatest expression of their love. Then, there is you. You can only find the truth through what you know. One woman brought you into this world, and, placed you into the loving arms of a couple who love you. To me, it sounds like this girl is way off target! Kiss your parents, and, thank them. Then look to the sky, and, thank God for the woman who bore you. Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit, yet, Joseph raised and loved him.
Good luck and God Bless!

Just because your parents gave you up for adoption doesn't mean they didn't love you.
Maybe they were not able to care for you. That doesn't mean they didn't love you.Sometime parents do what is best for the child and sometimes that means giving the child up.
Have you been told why your parents gave you up for adoption?
If you have questions about your birth parents, maybe you should talk to your adopted parents.
And quit listening to the person that is saying that your parents didn't love you.

I was an abandoned child in Latin America 50 years ago. Never understood why but have come to realize that the reasons are myriad, but more importantly, it's living with that small hole of not knowing and feeling abandoned that's the toughest to live with. Your friend is completely shortsighted, immature, ignorant and insensitive for having suggested this. At my age, it matters little what/why they did it, it's more important now to have accepted as this material can rent too much free space in your soul. Actually, knowing would give me some peace of mind, but I no longer dwell on this as much. One truism... the pain never leaves you.

I seriously doubt they gave you up because they don't love you. I'm sure that due to circumstances in their life, either financial, emotion, etc led to their decision. They obviously knew someone out their would take better care and give their child more stability then they could at the time.
Don't let anyone judge you or your parents..they havent walked a mile in your shoes or your parents shoes. *hug*
