It is easily disproved by all the obvious flaws with "creation."

If the universe was designed, it was done without the use of intelligence.

So-called "intelligent design" is just creationism lite.

The fundies push I.D. because they believe, in advance of finding evidence, not just that there must have been a creator god, but - surprise, surprise - that creator God must be exactly the one they worship.

So much for the creation stories of the Maya, the Babylonians and the Hindus. It would be a laugh if somebody found evidence that yes, there was an intelligent designer, and it was the Lord Krishna.

But wait, the Scientologists have a creationist theory too. The creator God was Xemu or something.

Oh dear, the list is endless.

Intelligent design means there was a designer.

If we were created then there was a creator.

I believe that the creator was God. That before space, time and human BEINGS, there were other BEINGS. Angels, etc.

I believe that I and everything on the planet was put here by our creator and designed to sustain life. It was designed in such a way that it was in perfect harmony with Gods will, to sustain life on earth for his creation.

I believe that human BEINGS were deceived and thus tainted this intelligent design in which began the decay of such perfection. Sin entering our world started this cycle in which we are seeing the effects today.

I believe when we CREATE music, CREATE art, CREATE a baby that it is created by us and may evolve to something else but that is the difference between what we are discussing. Evolution can not be how we came into existence, we could have and are continuously evolving from what we were CREATED in the first place, intelligently by the great designer.

God Bless

Intelligent Design is simply an attempt to sneak creation in by using a different name.
From all the heartaches, misery, starvation, murders, wars, disease, natural catastrophies, etc that's going on, I would say that if this was all organized and made by a super being, he was anything but intelligent.
If I believed that this was the idea of a "God". I sure would not pray to the sadist.

"A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting its boots on." (Mark Twain)

The only reason ID has ANY following, is that it takes just a few seconds to tell a lie while it takes minutes (or hours) for a real scientist to explain why it's a lie.

Believers who didn't want their religion relegated to the dustbin of history, and who noticed that the theory of evolution -- properly taught -- does exactly that, promptly started spreading lies about what the theory says and what it doesn't say. The real scientists have been playing catch-up ever since.

Creationism in disguise. Philosophy at best, but nothing resembling science because it begins with a theory and tries to back it up, whereas science starts with data and tries form a theory.

Science doesn't know everything yet, but saying "God did it" is completely useless for advancing knowledge... and ID is just as plausible with aliens as a deity.

Intelligent design has been gaining ground rapidly in scientific areas for the past four years. This is with good reason too. The theory of evolution and the "Big Bang" cannot be completely backed up, this leaves scientists scratching their heads but unwilling to admit there's a flaw. He missed! So many things are haphazard and barely work that it can't be intelligently designed. Creation thinly disguised as pseudoscience by folks who can't even spell pseudoscience.

It's a religious belief and it's nonsense. Living organisms are the product of evolution as has been known for well over 100 years and supported by mountains of incontrovertible evidence.

I like the way Einstein explained it:

"I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings."
