this is called a crypt organ, you cant feel it because it is in the abdomen. This is a genetic trait that can be passed on to other males that he sires. He needs to be neutered when a testicle does not drop it has a higher risk of developing testicular cancer.

At 8 months the chances are slim to nonexistant that the retained testical is gonna appear. At a year it's pretty much hopeless. The chances that retained testical will develop cancer is astronomically high so its STRONGLY recomended you not wait much past the year to have him neutered (taking the retained one too). THE retianed one will frequently atrophy before becoming cancerous so the longer you wait the better chance the vet will not find the retained one and be forced to leave a time bomb in your dog......

PS its POSSIBLE he has only one and there is none inside but that is a very rare thing while a retained one is not nearly so uncommon

If it hasn't dropped by now, its not going to drop.

This dog isn't not a good candidate for breeding because of this. This is a genetic problem.

If the testicle that hasn't dropped isn't removed, it can cause all sorts of problems, to numerous to name here.

Have him check over by your vet, get him neutered, they will locate the one that hasn't dropped and remove that as well.

if you are going to breed it:ask a vet.it might be serious. look it up online.don't breed it until you know whats wrong, if there is something wrong the offspring can come out messed-up.

the vet will probably tell you to get it nuetered.

extra info: nuetering for pittbulls and rottweillers is free at animal shelters.

Sometimes they will drop, but it's possible for it not to. It won't get infected it's more common than you would think. When you get him neutered it can be easy removed through the abdomen.

It should have dropped by 4months old....take him to the vet to get neutered, as a cripped orchid is a problem. He is not good for breeding.

sorry, pet peeve of mine, but the term is Cryptorchid. Crypt being the latin word for hidden, Orchid being the latin word for testicle.
