The longest word in any major English language dictionary is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a 45-letter word supposed to refer to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of fine silica dust, but research has discovered that this word was originally intended as a hoax. It has since been used in a close approximation of its originally intended meaning, lending at least some degree of validity to its claim.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis also called koniosis it's an alleged lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust found in volcanoes. It was coined to serve as the longest English word. The more general and widely used term for this condition is pneumoconiosis.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (45 letters), is found in many modern dictionaries... but research has discovered that this word is a HOAX and no longer valid.

So the record now goes to: pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism (30 letters).
