living room colour?

hi guys just wondering we just got a 42 inch black plasma tv for the sitting room so wanted to re design the whole room.
So has anyone got any ideas on what colour i can paint the room?
Style im going for is the modern/retro so any ideas would be helpful!

Sea foam green, mauve and burgundy.
A lovely combo.

Tan and black is modern and sophisticated. Red be a nice accent.
