I suppose this is a sign of advancement, but not necessarily improvement. We have more knowledge, technology and resources, but I do not think that constitutes an improvement. We are creating an Earth that cannot keep up with our rate of waste disposal. There's only so much we are going to be able to do....

Agree. There are problems associated with our disposable products, but it IS a clear sign that we are better off. Some might say, and many do say, that we are TOO well off and are not sacrificing enough for humanity in general and the future in particular. Be that as it may, that lack of sacrifice is a clear sign of being really well off.

Disagree! The reason being is what we use to clean/sterilize the products that are disposable are products that are unable to be drank or ate, yet we clean/sterilize the items we drink and eat out of with this. 100 yrs. ago the way they cleaned/sterilized was with water and heat. Which is what you use to prepare your foods before you eat them. We have to cook a hot dog at 180* degrees or higher just make sure it is safe to eat.

Disagree. So many resources are consumed to make these disposable products, and so much waste is generated. All because people are lazy.
