It is a little known fact that Dogs can be treated much the same as people. So since the vets are closed I would go to the store and purchase some Imodium, don't over do it though, 1 pill should be plenty, if it does not stop give the puppy another pill about 1 hour after the first pill.
Keep the dog hydrated (water) diarrhea can kill dogs as well as people.
When you do get to the Vet ask about putting the dog on Prednisone 10mg one every other day, this drug really helps dogs with sensitive stomachs.
You might also consider asking about putting you dog on Lixotiuis (Iron), this does several things really, all good, but it also helps to keep dogs regular with solid stools.
Hope this helps, now go buy the Imodium and maybe some bottled water, tap water can mess with dogs really bad depending on where you live.
Good Luck

Personally, I do not stop diarrhea since obviously the body is getting rid of something that it feels shouldn't be there. Because of that, I don't know any doggie remedies for it. I do give Pedialyte to keep the dog from becoming dehydrated. If she'll drink it willingly, mix half water and half pedialyte and have her drink as much as she wants. If she's not a big drinker, try mixing it with her food or giving her a syringe full every couple of hours. Get her to the vet as soon as you can. Call all of them and see if they left an emergency number. Many do and you can get some help quickly that way. The real danger of diarrhea is dehydration and Maltese are just so small. They can easily become dehydrated. Let us know what the vet says. I know I can't be the only one who worries about the sick animals we read about on here.

Depending on age (If a puppy always think parvo), I would fast (no solid food for the next 12 - 24hours). Fluids (water, gatorade etc.) can be offerred free choice as long as the dog doesn't start vomiting. If there is no vomiting and no signs of blood in the stool. You can potentially give Pepto Bismol or Kaopectate (1tsp. / 20#). If you see any of these other signs especially vomiting you need to find a vet. Most vets will have someone on call after hours or a number for an after hours emergency clinic.
Diarrhea in dogs can cause severe dehydration, electrolyte imbalance etc.. so if it persists longer than 12 hours you need vet. medical attention to at least replenish the fluid/electrolyte loss. This deficit sometimes cannot be handled through oral means and your vet. might reccommend subcutaneous or intravenous fluid therapy.
Good Luck .

I used to give my dog cooked hamburger and rice for that. Also, cottage cheese, I think is good to give.
More importantly, why is this happening? I think I'd get my dog to an after hours emergency clinic if you have one in your area. At least I'd call and talk to someone about what is best.
Good luck. I love dogs, don't you?

You can give her imodium. Boil some hamburger, strain and rinse it with hot water add cooked white rice. Don't feed her anything else for a few days. Stick with a decent dog food and don't give her anything else. Please see or call your vet in the morning. Good Luck.

You can give your dog a half or even less depending on the size of the dog, Imodium to help with diarrhea.

if you have an emergency animal clinic in your area, call them now!! you may have to to take her in so they can examine her. have you changed food recently? this can cause stomach upset. do not feed her tonight! that is adding fuel to the fire. you can also try calling your vet. they usually have an answering service and they will get the vet to call you. hope this helps and good luck!

Try not giving her any food for a while until you see the vet just give her water.
If he is not house trained try to keep an eye on him.
Good luck!
