Hm.. well, if you're sure that she was serious maybe you should ask someone else if they think the same thing. It doesn't have to be another friend or relative. You could ask a teacher or school counselor.
If you do go to, let's say, the school counselor, be sure to ask them if your conversation is going to be confidential. Most likely it is unless you plan on hurting someone or yourself. He/She might ask you what's been going on and ask your reaction to different stiuations. It'll be like a kind of "Do you think this behavior is healthy?" thing.
If you decide you may need therapist help, and it's time to tell your parents, I suggest doing it in a way that works for you. Don't tell them "I need to talk to you later", if that's going to leave them wondering all day.
Also, if you're afraid of therapy ruining your life instead of helping it, don't worry. I'll admit, a lot of therapists aren't the best. It's just a matter of finding the one that's right for you.

Do you have a close relative that you can talk to. Such as a Grandparent or Aunt etc... I had an abusive childhood and my Grandma's advice helped better than any therapist I've been to. Also if you ask for a relatives advice they may be able to tell your parents for you or they may even tell you your going through some normal emotions.
-Ask someone you trust and respect, not any of your friends but a grown adult you can TRUST! Everyone goes through hard times. Don't be ashamed to tell your parents, even if they get mad thats because they want the best for you. Also parents may deny you have a problem thats why a close reltive can be very helpful.

Did your friend tell you why? Do you feel you have problems, feelings that are interfering with your life? Don't know how old you are, but it sounds like you are fairly young. First thing I'd do is pin down your friend and find out why she feels this way. Don't argue, just listen, or take notes. Second, if you are in school, see if you can talk to a school social worker, psychologist or counselor who know more about behavior than your friend. Let the counselor decide if you need therapy and help you talk to your family.

I would ask her nicely to explain why she thinks that, and try to keep an open mind about it. If she's serious, then she's trying to help you and cares about what happens to you.
Then, go to your parents and say a friend of yours (no names) was worried about you and suggested therapy because (whatever reason she gave). Ask for their opinion as well, they may be seeing the same problem and not know how to approach you.
Just keep in mind there is nothing wrong with seeing a therapist or asking for help with something, no matter how small. it's also frequently very hard to see one's own problems. Be glad you have friends who care about your well-being.

It depends on why she said it. My friends all think I need help, but I don't have a therapist. If YOU think you need help, try to leave your parents a note or call them on the phone when they're somewhere else, so you can hang up if they get mad or something.

Hi sweety,
Dont worry sweety, everyone in their life needs to see a therapist at some point in their lifes. Doesnt mean that you will have to see them for life or that your not "normal". Its ok sweety to tell your parents or your family Doc about it. Just be honest and open and in no time your life will be as beautiful as anyones elses!!
God Bless you sweety!!!
