How do I crate train an American Eskimo puppy?

I work all day and I thought that they don't use the bathroom where they sleep, my puppy is 8wks old and is constantly messing in his crate. I need some advice

your 8 week old puppy can only hold it 2-3 hours at a time... Make sure it doesnt have any water or food 1 hour before you put your puppy in his crate and take it out 10-15 min after he has eaten or drank anything and once more before you put him in his crate. please dont expect him to hold it the whole time you are gone if its more than 2-3 hours.... When he gets older he will be able to hold it longer... and by the time he is 8-9 months old he will be able to hold it 8-9 hours at a time... but NO more then 9 hours would be best for a dog of any age!!

i hope to God you not leaving that puppy in the crate all day while you are at work. If so .....you need to find that puppy a good home before you ruin the dog. Why do people have dogs and leave them in a crate all day.. It is like a puppy jail .. no better than keeping them in a pound. I have 8 dogs and never had them in a crate, and yes I do work. People got lazy and started using the crate as a baby setter..no dog should be in a crate more than four hours..other then to sleep during the night if you have to have a crate. I am sorry but it makes me angry when people uses these crates for something other than they were intended for.
Do that puppy a favor and find him a good home.
