I am a 18 year old male and am a virgin. I found a lump on my lower abdomen right near my genitals. The lump is incredibly painful when any pressure is applied and it hurts to even touch it gently. I've researched and all I can think of is it being a hernia. What should I do?

when you tell me your problem the only thing i can come up with either is a hernia. i suggest you go to a doctor and get that checked out. if not treated a hernia can turn ugly.. and could become more painful.

The first thing I would think of is a hernia. Did it appear all of a sudden, or have you had it for a while? Maybe it is a swollen and sore lymph gland. In either case, being a virgin would not be pertinent. I think you should go to the Dr. and have it investigated. It very well could be other things to--some serious and some not so serious. The only way you can know is to have it looked at by a professional.

I would also agree that it is probably a hernia. The good news is they can be easily repaired. Go to the doctor right away

When you say "incredibly painful" then it means you need evaluation and treatment RIGHT AWAY! Pain is the body's way of saying, "Get help"! If it does not go away when you lay down, then the bowel is being strangled & it will die unless it is released.
