In terms of moral/spiritual advice, trust comes from many aspects. Does the person have a good reputation? Does his or her advice make any sense to you? Has he or she helped others by giving good advice?
I find with spiritual and moral advice, our hearts are naturally inclined to the right answer. If you feel your conscience is comfortable with what you are offered then perhaps the person is trustworthy.

I observe them often from far away. A person's true nature comes out when they are amongst friends. Do they act dishonourably around their friends? Or do they act with dignity that makes them able to be looked up upon? Don't distrust them because of a difference of a trivial opinion or religion or other such things. These situations (intolerance) lead to unnecessary strife and anger.
