You sure got me there. It's not the same maize today. We don't plant corn, squash & beans together in each hill. We don't plant in the lower corner of diamond shaped quads like sinagua farmers. Not many flood-irrigate channels like they did at Chaco Canyon. We don't even grow some of the old small-seed crops, and many of the greens were gathered not cultivated. Not even tobacco is similar today. We need far higher production today to feed so many people.

Was there anything in particular you had in mind?
