I really liked this guy years ago but I got frustrated because he would call me every few weeks in the summer and then disappear for most of the rest of the year. He says he didn't call because he was at college. Everytime we did go out we just went somewhere and had some form of sex. He was 24yrs old. I recently found out that after I had moed on he had tried to call me periodically over the years but could not find me. I found this out because I recently ran into him. He says that he always thought about me. He started seeing a girl 17 years ago and soon after moved her in.
However, when he talks to me he calls her his ladyfriend. At first he did not come right out and tell me about her. He said he never married and then I asked him if he was seeing someone and he said he has someone that he sees. Then later I asked if she lives with him and then he told me yes. I really like this guy but I have always felt he was a player. Am I wrong?

trust your feelings........nobody lives with someone for 17 years and it is casual unless their name is Mom and Pop. The dude is a Bull sh*t artist and you are falling for a old song and dance....he lives with her for 17 years but, guess what you're the one who is really special...go figure. Drop the Bum or Player whatever name he goes by and you will do great in life

doesn't sound good sounds like he was just using you. but i can tell you right now that anyone who uses the term "ladyfriend" is a complete dork who would never get a date with me. that word brings to mind some tubby computer nerd who attends renaissance.fairs wearing a tunic and tights who enjoys "jousting" with his pals on the lawn "whilst" eating a giant turkey leg with bits of it in stuck to his beard.

You are what we call a TR. Tender ronni, That is a lady friend we can go to for sex cause you give it to us. If you ok with it fine do you but dont put your life on hold waiting for him cause its never gonna happen. Not even if the other lady wasnt there because thats what you are and thats how he see you. If you dont mind being something to do until you find better than so be it.If you ask me holla at me. I dont have anyone in my life.Holla

Player? I dunno. But here's one thing for sure - his level of ethics is that he is willing to have a live-in lover for a long time, that he does not love and does not respect rather than having a great life, standards, and a great relationship. I would not assume he will do any better by you.
