Can they? Maybe.

Will they? Maybe - but only if you ask THEM - NOT US.

Unless someone from that vendor is here, and is online, and sees your question, and decides to answer it, you haven't got a prayer of getting an answer you can trust. So why not ask the experts? I don't know how you'd contact them - but I would start with wherever you plan to tell them you want to buy a machine. If that's a website, go there. If that's a sales counter inside a brick-and-mortar store, go there. If that's an 800 number... well, you'll figure it out.

Oh, and good for you for passing on Vista. From what I hear, it's full of bugs yet, it takes more horsepower than most existing computers have, a lot of hardware doesn't have drivers out to allow their printers, keyboards, monitors, etc. to work with Vista, and it's an expensive upgrade. See below for details.

Vista abode top rate isn't a foul OS, it fairly is in basic terms that it needs a especially good equipment to run effectively. many human beings will inform you it runs slow and that they journey problems, yet those human beings probable have structures that slightly meet the minimum standards for the OS. it is extra the fault of the merchants and manufacturers as against the customers, yet after performing some speedy learn you would be waiting to be sure no rely if or not a equipment will run Vista nicely. that's an outstanding theory to exceed the minimum standards with Vista... exceptionally with reference to RAM. I surely have Vista abode top rate on my Macbook (2.4 ghz) with 2 gigs of RAM and it fairly works completely high-quality. wish this facilitates.

a word of advice.....stay away from vista for a while.

if things go wrong, there are no drivers out there yet vista compatible. have heard too many things wrong with it for the time being.
give emachines a call and ask them to put xp on it for you. or if you got the disc, uninstall vista and put xp back

good luck
