umm well i have minor acne and its usually just on my forhead all over, and ive used TONS of products (proactiv, neutrogena, clean &clear, natures cure, differin, acnezone) and tons of others.
my friend who is getting her degree in dermatology says that maybe i should try something milder, like regular soap and warm water.
is soap good for the face and can it maybe help my skin?

No not all soaps are good because of the oils in them. Use like a bar soap such as dial. lather up your hands. rub it all over your face. then rinse your face off. and pad your face down with a bath towel.

It could have to do with your horomones. I dont know your age or I would give you more specified answer. I had issues with my skin as well growing up and once I started drinking more water, no soda, eating fruits and veggies..it got much much better very quickly. I think that working together with a nice face wash...I have tried them all too...I finally found one that worked and helped balance out my skin. Its called Purity and is sold by the company Philosophy. I use that to wash my face with and I also use the moisterizer called Hope in a Jar. It is for all skin types and does not break you out. It is awesome. My skin finally looks awesome for the first time. A lot of things will dry out your skin..so be careful your not drying it out too much because that causes break outs too. A moisterizer is important. Good luck. I understand what your going through and it can be awful.

raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..
the following 2 testimonials can be seen at http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/acne.html
Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
you can get it at the health food store, or in some super marktet health food sections. i use bragg vinegar..
good luck
Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."

well I think if you are going to use rehualr soap, you should get some without any scent. The other soaps with scents carry ingredients that irritate some types of skin. I think anyone is safe with cetaphill face cleanser or body cleanser. I don't actually have acne but I have excema and have experience with scented soaps or dish soaps (really bad for skin!)
Hope this is helpful :)

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

Coast soap(the original) is good for acne because it sucks the accesive oil off your skin effectively. I have had oily skin and terrible acne. Try it.

Soap strips you skin of natural oils causing the brain to tell your body to produce more. be sure you are using an oil free moisturize so the skin gets hydration not oil.
