There is very little possibility that bad effects from these
drugs will be passed on through the sperm to the unborn
baby. Realistically, with the exception of a defective sperm
itself (in which case, it probably won't inseminate anyways),
the only thing that is passed on is DNA.

However, the PROPENSITY to do drugs might be at
least somewhat genetically linked, and of course that he
would pass on.

The mother, however, is responsible for generating most
of the baby's blood chemistry - so everything she puts in her
body can potentially have an effect (good or bad).

Any drug can effect an unborn baby. Did you take the drugs before you got pregnant?? Oh wait you cannot get pregnant.. silly me. In any-case yes the father can cause serious birth defects if taking these drugs. It is always and without a doubt important to talk with your doctor before planning a pregnancy. If you are worried ,and she is already pregnant, than the best thing to do is tell her doctor so he can run test to assure you and the mom that the baby is healthy and the progress of its development. If not pregnant yet confide in your doctor so he can determine the best time to conceive a healthy baby. I wish you luck and a healthy baby.(PS I said go to the doctor)
