I'm an atheist so as far as I'm concerned it's all nonsense anyway... but the best answer from a religious perspective is probably Deism - i.e.a god exists, he started off the universe but has no interest or involvement in it since then. He simply doesn't care. If it weren't for the fact that gods are impossible, Deism would be quite consistent with observable reality.

Why does god have to a physical form? God didn't actually write a "religous book, many people over a long period of time did. People have always created their gods rather their gods creating them. If a god did give us free will why would he restrain us from fully exercising our rights? That's why there are so many different religous groups, they may be different but are based on the same "guy." In the end no one can be sure of what is the truth that why you become an Agnostic.

OK, so God comes down and makes an announcement on CNN that He's God -- shape up or ship out. That sends the faith factor right out the window. It's all cut and dried, believe or don't believe.
What's the point in that? Nobody ever needs to trust God any more because they make a 2:30 appointment, file paperwork in triplicate, and make their request face to face. The basis of Christianity is faith -- trusting in God even if we can't see Him. Take away the faith element, and you've got no reason to trust. You'd be relying on your own wisdom rather than God's faithfulness, and that's not how He set things up.
Jesus Himself said in John 20:29, "Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
And incidentally, why doesn't anybody ever say, "If Buddha or Mohammed exist, why don't they just show themselves?" Why does is always have to be God Who's expected to prove Himself -- as if He has to.

Such a large part of belief in God has to do with your own faith. Many people believe that man landed on the moon and have never been given any proof whatsoever. Many believed that dinosaurs walk the earth and have never possessed a dinosaur bone. We accept these truths with faith in either the text we read, or the speaker we heard. What is the difference in God? He left us a book, dinosaurs left bones? You must understand that anthropolgist did not find a complete array of bones, they found 1 or 2 and then theorized the rest. An astronomer tells you that there is a star 900 light years from you and you accept it. A man (hopefully of good will) expresses there is a God who loves you and you need proof. It has to do with you, and no one else.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Good luck with that, and quite frankly if you believe that a being has the power and intelligence to create the entire world, planets, sun and stars, I am sure our feeble human form could not withstand His presence. The spirtual version is, He walked with Adam in the garden. At the time Adam was free from sin and without blemish. When sin entered man's existence, God's presence was then too much for the human form to withstand. It is why He provides us with a part of himself in the persons of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I always equate the three to water. God is water, Jesus is ice, and the Holy Spirit steam. Three facets of one entity.
hope it helps.

Hello Jedi.. :)
God does reveal Himself to all that ask Him with a sincere and seeking heart..Then and only then will anyone find God..
Science and the Bible do not conflict..it is people who interpret science in the wrong way, that conflicts with the Bible..
I have met many Hindu's and Muslim's on-line..
We also have a Missionary from our Church, that shared with us that there are many new Churches that are being built in India as well as in other Asian Countries.. :)
Atheism deals with ones mind..where Christianity deals with our hearts..
You can listen to this video if you would like..

Dear jedi, your premise isnt exactly true. It is not a logical necessity that if God exists he must make Himself known to any individual. There is no "must" or "ought" or "would" to it as required by this atheist. If God truly exists, then he can do what ever he pleases whether it is to remain undetected or detected to anyone. secondly, how do you Know God hasnt made himself perfectly known to you? perhaps such a person as yourself has inded encountered a revelation from God. but, if such a person as yourself has a presuppositional base that excludes the existence of God, then such evidence of Gods existence would be discarded and missed. And lastly your conclusion that because God does not show himself, he must not be real, is false. since none of the preceeding premises are true then the argument is logically fallacious. Secondly, your second argument is a subjective statement, and subjective statements do not make logiac proofs. despite this fact i will indulge myself and answere your question in a brief manner. There is nothing in the Bible that contradicts scientific fact. Evolution of species from inorganic material is not a scientific fact. It is a theory.
Thirdly, here is your revelation, so listen..............
Have you ever lied, stolen, lusted, coveted, or been angry with someone unjustly? If so, then you have broken the Law of God. God has said "You shall not steal; You shall not lie; You shall have no other gods before Me; You shall not murder, covet commit adultery ect. On the day when we face God, he will judge all of mankind according to thier transgressions of Gods law. because God is Holy and Just he cannot and will not ingnore our transgression of his Law. The Law is represenative of Gods Holy character and nature, when we break Gods law, were not simply breaking a set of boring rules, to break Gods Law is to offend God and deny His Holy Character. he will be vindicated. he will judge, and the penalty for our sin is hell. the good news is that Christ died for us, we broke the Law, but jesus through His own lifes blod satisfied the wrath of a Holy God. Now, God commands men every where to repent (turn from sin) and trust on christ and be saved. I am completely and totaly serious about this, 150,000 people die every day 10 out of 10 die its the ultimate statistic. Thirdly, think about how short your life is in comaprison to an eternity. according to the Census Bureau, the avergae age of death is 75, that means that soeone in thier twenties only have a few thousand weekends left o live. you have an appointment with God, get yourself right with God today.

We walk by faith.
First to answer your question: He will be. So get ready for the fireworks. I hope I am on YA in this section when it happens.
Jesus came to save the earth, so when people say he already did, thats not exactly right.
If people say its b/c of our free will, well thats not exactly right either.
You hit the nail on the head . . . . . of course they have heard of Christianity. God will not come down in judgment on the earth until ALL have heard. Until ALL can know there is a way to get to him. Until ALL will not be able to use that as an excuse for their unbelief.
He is coming
He is coming soon
He is coming to judge
He is coming so what will you say?
God Bless

I can only give my opinion on this, but I do agree with that free will thing. Also, it seems God wants us to have FAITH. Don't know why, but that's just how He wants it, it seems. I guess it's kind of like Him asking us to take a brave step and actually trust Him, without actually seeing. Like a loved one leading us through the dark to safety. But I guess perhaps it's human nature to want to SEE or KNOW. There's faith, and then there's knowledge. Even scientists have faith on their theories based on the evidence collected. Maybe it's kind of like that; that we have to 1) acknowledge evidence 2) have faith in it so that #3 will happen: that we'll experience God and not just have faith in him, but eventually come to KNOW Him. And since God is spiritual, these "experiments" must be conducted spiritually (and sincerely!), and it goes without saying that the evidence would be spiritual (not physical) too. Makes sense to me, anyway. Good question :)

He did show himself 2000 years ago he was Jesus Christ .In John
3:12 " If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe me not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? John 4 :48" Except ye se signs and wonders, ye will not believe." Man made a lot of religions on their own , man by nature doesn't want God or to follow his law (bible). In Matthew 9:37 " The harvest truly is plenteous ,but the labourers are few.He wants all the believers to spread his word to the four corners of the earth ,he wants every one to have a chance to go to heaven but , not every one wants to repent of their life style . Radio is doing a lot in spreading his word to third world countries.Ye must have faith

God is not a "He" - and it wouldn't "come down"
Religion is just a tool that humans have come up with to help them be closer to God.
God is Love. It's everywhere and It works through us.
I don't think God "wrote a religious book" The humans did that.
I don't think religion and science conflict. In fact, I'm a Religious Scientist. It all works together!
God is too big for just one religion.
And - um - there is no Satan. That's just fear-based silliness.
Namaste!!

God is real, and He did come down and show Himself.
It is all recorded in the Bible. Check out Lee Strobel's book, or Evidence that demands a verdict, if you are really interested on if Christ is real, there is enough evidence to convince even the most hardened skeptic.
But you must be willing to search, and to change your mind if you find you are wrong....
May God lead you in your search for TRUTH- and may you recognized TRUTH when you meet Him!
