I wish...I contacted the army last year to see about reactivating my commission and go to Iraq. But I was politely refused because at 52 I didn't have enough prior service time to be able to retire by the time I was 62...Army regs. So, I'll just go back over as a DoD contractor again.

They asked me. Then told me I would have to meet the height/weight standards, pass my PT test , would not be promoted, would have to give up my military retirement pay, and had also to fill out about another 20 forms. It brought back many memories about the service, and also made me remember one of the most important things: Don't volunteer for anything. Too bad, there is alot of experienced troops who could be contributing, if not for the BS involved.

if they are willing and fit enough but only if they volunteer they have already served their contract i think it would be extremely brave of someone to go back into service for a war if they didnt have to. I definitely think it should be allowed
