I'm a Christian, and sometimes I feel that way around a large group of Christians, too. I tend to be a little more liberal about certain things than a lot of Christians, and I feel like I always have to watch everything I say for fear of offending them.
It's kind of sad when you can't relax around people who share the same basic beliefs as you do. But at least you know you're not the only one who feels this way.

Probably because they do not act or speak the way you have been told (or the way the bible says) they should act & speak.
Its called hypocrisy and its the main reason I left the church.

"If you feel uncomfortable around Christians, then it really is your own guilt that is getting in the way. "

Have you been born again?
Jesus said no man can see, or enter the kingdom of God, unless he is born again. (Read John 3: 1-7)
Before we are born again, we have only the old Adamic nature, which is by nature hostile to God. The chief characteristic of the old nature is that it is essentially selfish, and puts self first instead of God.
That is why in II Corinthians 5:17 Paul said; "Now if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new."
When we are born again we enter into a completely new relationship with God, where He becomes our Spiritual Father, and we receive complete pardon of sin, and become harmonious with His nature.
Man is born with a rebellious bent toward sin. When Christ died, He took this nature upon Himself and bore our punishment, so we could be forgiven and receive as a gift the blessings that He alone earned, by a perfect, holy and sinless life.
Isaiah says: "All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned each to his own way, and the Lord has laid upon him the iniquity (and its consequences) of us all." (Isaiah 53:6)
Ask the Lord, in prayer, whether this might be the case with you, and if you have not been born again, ask Him to forgive you all your sins and become Lord of your life. Ask Him to give you the new nature, the nature of the Lamb of God, which dwelt in Jesus, and dwells in all His people. (Romans 8:9 say "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him)
Ask Him for the Spirit - the Spirit of Christ - He has said "Come unto Me..." (Matthew 11:28ff), and "the one who comes to Me, I will certainly not cast out." (John 6:37) Don't go to bed tonight without settling the matter in your heart. Search the Scriptures, and may He lead you into His Truth and Peace.
peace to you!

I suggest that your get more confident in your Christian walk. I was told by a Sunday School teacher a long time ago do not worry about what other people think sometimes in your own church or where ever, just remember what Jesus thinks about you that's what really matters.

Maybe you have an overdeveloped sense of guilt. You should fight through this feeling and keep fellowshipping with Christians. Or find some that are more accepting. If these are not.
Real Christians filled with the Holy Spirit of God will have love for others that is evident to all.

ok, nicely i can work out which you have a component. i don't think of that there is something incorrect with 'everlasting smile' christians. they only care and love you. possibly you're able to get to comprehend a pair as close acquaintances. once you get to comprehend them extra in my opinion, they'll oftentimes 'relax' and alter into extra tender around you too. i don't comprehend approximately christians that hide their faith. i don't have faith that's mandatory to be chuffed and cheery and consistently so 'smiley', yet i think of that as Christians we could set an occasion, and shine Jesus' gentle. we are to not feel embarrassment approximately our faith, yet particularly tutor others that we're not some style of freakish weirdos! i'm not asserting it fairly is straightforward to get the steadiness good, even however that's considerable, and once you do, you will experience extra tender and function a potential on 'severe' and 'quiet' christians. i wish this following bible verse will show you how to. be sure you have a examine of extra verses in Matthew 5, because it fairly is going to show you how to. Matthew 5:sixteen interior the comparable way, enable your gentle shine until now adult men, that they might even see your good deeds and compliment your Father in heaven. i wish you nevertheless love and shine God's gentle. in case you ought to any extent further concerns please, do not hesitiate to e mail me. i'm fairly chuffed to debate something.

Dear Here, only you can answer that question, but some fell the uncofortablness, because, if a christian is livivng as a wittness as they should be, they then begin to effect other around them by thier wittness. for example someone sees me respond to someone in the manner Christ would desire and someone whonis a non beliver sees this and it begins bruning o their mind, why I repsonded differently. However the most important thing you can know about a true Christian is that which only 2% of Christians share. the message of salvation. let me explain by asking you a few questions........
Have you ever lied, stolen, lusted, coveted, or been angry with someone unjustly? If so, then you have broken the Law of God. God has said "You shall not steal; You shall not lie; You shall have no other gods before Me; You shall not murder, covet, commit adultery ect. The law is representavie of Gods Holy charachter and nature, and when we sin against him we arent just breaking some boring rules, were actually offending his Holy nature and character. because of this, and because he is a Holy and Just God, he Must punish sin. Nothing we have ever done is hidden from His Holy eyes. The penalty for our sin is hell, I hate to say it, but in order to omit this fact, I would need to ignore the Bible in its entirety. The good news is that God loved us so much he sent his only begotten son, God sent his only son to die for your sins. you broke Gods Law But Jesus paid your fine, with his own lifes blood he satisfied the Holy demands of your creator. Now, God commands you and I to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Christ and His gift of salvation. the moment we do, we will be forgiven and granted everlasting life. You have an appointment with God, based upon the average age of death, someone in thier twenties only have afew thousnd weekends left to live, 150,000 people die every 24 hours. Will you be ready if the next 24 hours are your last? my prayer is that you will be.
remeber, we Must repent and turn from our sin and trust in christ.
God Bless

Have you ever been in a room where there are delusional, psychotics? Like say a loony bin! A hospital for the mentally impaired! You know that uncomfortable feeling you get when you are there! Well if that is what you feel when you are around Christians, then I know what you feel, I feel the same thing, and the reason you feel that way is because, they are WEIRD!!!! And you are not and you feel it!
