yes the thoughts just don't stop. I think that humanity is an art form you almost have to relax and play a charactor in a play and people see themselves as protagonists in there own dramas because to deny our illusions and to seek out any analitical truth is missing the point and the romance of the human experience. Edgar allen poe was interested in this and he functioned in a way and on a level wrought with guilt and anxiety. He was a recluse with obsessive tendancies and he finnally killed himself. For those of us who question in such depth find ourselves more isolated in a world we see very differently and become unrelatable to others in soceity who beleive in such absurd concepts as nature, morality, monogamy and even god the ultimate of misterious beings witch will no doupt dissapear and be replaced with a cornacopia words all answers to these infinate questions. Try and keep it simple otherwise you will go insane like me.

Yep. Sounds like you have anxiety. If these internal conflicts are based on one theme and are repetitive in nature it could be Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (which i have!). I have had this since i was a kid.
There are some good therapies: regular intensive exercise (leaves you too tired to argue with yourself) hard work ( too busy to think) and antidepressants. I take Effexor and it has helped no end. However all people get this to a greater or lesser extent in their life at some time or other. Don't worry about it unless it is affecting your life and is a source of daily worry. Good luck and you aren't mad or bad! This kind of thing is just a bit of common garden neurosis!

Been there and had the tee-shirt too.
A really 'good' question to ask yourself is 'Why do I need an answer to the question I'm about to ask myself'?
However, it is NOT, repeat, NOT the answer that is important. What is important is the point where you notice yourself getting sick and bloody tired of asking yourself the same damned question.
Personally, one of the methods I used was 'discipline,' the discipline of Calligraphy (the writing in 'Italics') and of the spelling, the punctuation and developing a style that felt right as it flowed onto the paper (within the confines laid down for me).
That constant practise focused my mind and took on the metaphor of meditation (which part of and known as one of the 7th martial arts as practised within the teachings) ~ whilst at the same time studying psychology and undergoing counselling training.

Yep...
I have something similar to a running monolgue justifying most things I do in an arguementative way, in my head...
I question too much too.
But at least it gives a somewhat clear understanding and explanation of what I do.
