It's funny...I've never realized that until now. My guess is that most TV stations try to push Christianity to the forefront to make it seem more universal . Plus i think they don't wanna loose ratings with their target market. Coz imagine a Muslim Ad inviting ppl to join their faith... might cause a bit of controversy with the public (due to recent events), even though that may not be their intention.

It's even more bazaar, that the religious channels don't promote other faiths. I mean one cud learn more abt other religions on National Geographic than on any other religious channel. I think they should be more open to other faiths.

I'm assuming this is American broadcasting, so since 83% of Americans are Christian according to the last poll, if you want to advertise a religious event or product on TV that'd be the one reaching the most people.

No. It's because Christianity is the richest religion in the world and they can afford the cost of those commercials. Plus they are one of the few religions whose followers are supposed to proselytize (advertise) for converts.

Even within Christianity, if the message is outside the "mainstream" Christian view it is rejected. The United Church of Christ, a liberal Christian Church, had their commercials rejected by all the major television networks. Why? Because it had a message of inclusion, that all were welcome, even to those traditionally not tolerated by Christians. It really is sad that a message of tolerance and inclusion would be so soundly rejected.

EDIT: To those who claim it is money, it isn't. The United Church of Christ had the money to run their spots and they were still rejected because of their message of inclusion.

No I don't think so. They do show other commercials on TV or maybe you're just jealous.
