Pride from those who respect their country,
Insults from those who believe we can't win.
In Washington they sit back on cushioned seats.
Talking as if they know a war, they've never been in.
It's easy to see things through rose collered glasses, we can cut and run.
Leave your duty with no purpose, critcise your life and your gun.
Or as they criticise your leaders, and lay your soul to rest.
We can do it with dignity, and admit ours are the best.
I ask all here tonight for one moment for the red, white and blue.
And those fighting for your country, with hearts brave and true. olhip48

Im not sure of your true position about the fallen, therefore i can't say that im happy with this little poem, having lost some friends in iraq and afghanistan. Please don't trivialize the memories of my friends and fellow soldiers.

regardless of what someone in washington is doing, what the protesters yap about, and to all those who don't believe, i fight because the are graveyards full of people all of the world who have fought and died and have been kept against their will for this country. freedom is not free, there is a hell of a price to pay for it so when i look at my kids, my wife, and i think of all those who were brave enough to go before me, thats why i fight. i've been all over this world, and i have seen enough to know that we have it very nice. you have to be willing to give up certain things and do certain things in order to gain more. never forget its the lowly soldier, sailor, and airman that gives all of your rights....don't worry though there is enough of us out here to say...you can go to bed tonite and nothing will ever hurt you.

They earned being true to themselves for their desire to serve their country. That is a nice poem.

I like the poem, but is it anti-war or pro-war. If it's anti-Iraq/troops/war I hate it. If its pro-Iraq/troops/war I love it.
