Unfortunately, a well documented but rare complication of infectious mononucleosis is B-Cell lymphoma. I actually know a mother that lost her teenage daughter to this.

OK, she really didn't, that's a rumor, but the point is, you can die form any stupid thing at any time.

Mono can really disrupt your life. I had a good friend in high school
who was gone for over a month with mono (notice I said "had" a
good friend, because after I found out he was having sex with my then girlfriend, he no longer was good friend material).

It is possible. What can happen is that your spleen or liver can become enlarged with blood sacs around them. Playing contact sports is forbidden b/c of this. The sacs may rupture and that could cause death.

Yes it is POSSIBLE. But however with our medical technology today, few if any deaths occur.
