How do other military families file complaints against other military hospitals? Where did these people go to get something done about this?

If you have a complaint - every major military medical center has an IG. These are the best people to go to with a complaint.

FYI - going to your congressman should always be a last resort. The moment it becomes 'political' nobody is allowed to tell you anything (so as not to step on the toes of the Congressman). All information will be sent up the chain of command - where it wil be reviewd and questioned at every level. This will result in a delay of several weeks for information that could have been given to you by a sergeant making a phone call.

BTW - are you aware that the building that was discussed is scheduled to be torn down in a few years?

You know, I have been in the Walter Reed Army hospital and when I was there it seemed to be fine. Of course that has been more than 20 years ago. I would have to say that the problems at the hospital started when the funding didn't keep up with the need. How can you run any business today on a budget that hasn't changed in years??? Vets seem to be the last ones who are properly cared for and yet the first ones to answer the call. Somehow, someone seen the conditions and reported it. It may have been a parent or a visitor. Who knows??

Right now the door is wide open as they're looking into every military and veterans hospital for neglect. After 10 months in and out of Walter Reed, my husband and I talked to anyone we could find (except the media which apparently is the first place we should have tried). Each hospital is going to take care of itself, so going to the hospital commander does no good...trust me on that one. I would contact your Congressman! Ours has helped us tremendously, especially since all this has come out into the open. I would also contact the media in that area! After all we've been through Ive discovered that the more people you talk to, the better the chance that someone will listen to you. Good luck

Contact your Congressman if you have a concern. They will definitely pay attention now.
