Whenever someone says "it's not for us to know" or "don't question it, just believe", does it mean their faith is so weak that it cannot stand up to rational scrutiny?

Hello icarus62.. :)

It is good, to see you back here posting.. :)

No..it does not mean our Faith is weak..

I for one, would much rather put my thoughts and actions into helping others..

What is rational scrutiny to some, may be the total opposite to others..not everyone looks at a sunset and sees the same thing..just like when one is asked a question about a certain topic, you will find many different reasons or answers..

Faith to a believer in Christ is: the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

It means there faith is stronger than you give it credit for. Do you realy believe that all cristians are just willfully ignorant? God loves you, thats the first step. If you want a relationship with his then Blind faith is wonderfull. Unfortunatly I was once a nonbeliver just as yourself. I had to have tangable evidence of what I was believing before I jumped in and asked jesus into my life. I thorougly studied it. I weighed things objectively. I found intelligent reasons to believe what I do. Now I regret ever doubting. A famous lawyer tryed to objectively disprove the bible and in his qest actualy did a 180 and became a christan. He wrote several books supporting his faith with evidence that would stand up in COURT. Don't belive me? Read it yourself.

Good news, Christianity has stood the test of time. Many have challenged it and not one has put a dent in it. There are more Christians today then ever before. There was the Scopes trial that ended making a monkey out of a man, rather than the other way around.

Jesus Christ is LORD of ALL Creation !!!!!!!!!!!

An christian answer from above - Faith is strong, brain is weak. It's easier to build faith than to build intelligence.

My non-christian response to the comment above.
Christians stupid - they live by faith alone
Athiests smart - they live by stimulation mostly, and some food. LOL

I would rather believe that I don't understand something than being a physicist and saying that the Universe 'just happened' (?!?!).

You are totally free to investigate, and search for the truth. and if you find the truth you will also be closer to Jesus because Jesus is the truth the way and the life.

I think it is they are brainwashed and afraid to ask God.the book of James says if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not.Now that tells me that I can ask and God won't be mad at me.

nonsense.

I question my faith all the time.

Then I give my doubts to God, and by golly, he replaces them with joy and encouragement through the word and his works.

Hoorah!
