Good question and a great thought. Of course I would if I was really considering this very carefully get busy looking up all the definitions of "mind" and "matter" in the dictionary and give them some thought.

I do see the expression of mind over matter in a different view and I can not embrace your stated conclusion. But do keep in mind that such is for me and I will accept your opinion and your view for you.

Absolutely if you do not mind by your definition it does not matter to you in the time frame of the present. My question is, "How about the next time frame of a minute from notw meaning the future time frame? Have you given that some thought?

Do have a great day and do smile while you visit all the cemeteries and see the now time frame of those who maybe had the idea that the future did not matter.

The working senses are superior to dull matter; mind is higher than the senses; intelligence is still higher than the mind; and he [the soul] is even higher than the intelligence.
Bhagavad-gita(3.42)

See below the purport to above verse by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)
The senses are different outlets for the activities of lust. Lust is reserved within the body, but it is given vent through the senses. Therefore, the senses are superior to the body as a whole. These outlets are not in use when there is superior consciousness, or Krishna consciousness. In Krishna consciousness the soul makes direct connection with the Supreme Personality of Godhead; therefore the hierarchy of bodily functions, as described here, ultimately ends in the Supreme Soul. Bodily action means the functions of the senses, and stopping the senses means stopping all bodily actions. But since the mind is active, then even though the body may be silent and at rest, the mind will act—as it does during dreaming. But above the mind is the determination of the intelligence, and above the intelligence is the soul proper. If, therefore, the soul is directly engaged with the Supreme, naturally all other subordinates, namely, the intelligence, mind and senses, will be automatically engaged. In the Katha Upanisad there is a similar passage, in which it is said that the objects of sense gratification are superior to the senses, and mind is superior to the sense objects. If, therefore, the mind is directly engaged in the service of the Lord constantly, then there is no chance that the senses will become engaged in other ways. This mental attitude has already been explained. param dristva nivartate. If the mind is engaged in the transcendental service of the Lord, there is no chance of its being engaged in the lower propensities. In the Katha Upanisad the soul has been described as mahan, the great. Therefore the soul is above all-namely, the sense objects, the senses, the mind and the intelligence. Therefore, directly understanding the constitutional position of the soul is the solution of the whole problem.

(Katha Upanisad 1.3.3-4) it is said:
"The individual is the passenger in the car of the material body, and intelligence is the driver. Mind is the driving instrument, and the senses are the horses. The self is thus the enjoyer or sufferer in the association of the mind and senses. So it is understood by great thinkers."

Below is the purport by Prabhupada,
Intelligence is supposed to direct the mind, but the mind is so strong and obstinate that it often overcomes even one's own intelligence, as an acute infection may surpass the efficacy of medicine. Such a strong mind is supposed to be controlled by the practice of yoga, but such practice is never practical for a worldly person like Arjuna. And what can we say of modern man? The simile used here is appropriate: one cannot capture the blowing wind. And it is even more difficult to capture the turbulent mind. The easiest way to control the mind, as suggested by Lord Caitanya, is chanting "Hare Krishna," the great mantra for deliverance, in all humility. The method prescribed is sa vai manah krishna-padaravindayoh: [SB 9.4.18] one must engage one's mind fully in Krishna. Only then will there remain no other engagements to agitate the mind.

Dear Brothers and sisters, 03.03.2007

A "Secret" is the knowledge of a fact that is "Unknown"
The moment this knowledge reaches 1 mind, it ceases to be a
"Secret"
It is irrelevant whether the "Secret" is understood, solved or not.
Thus "Secret" is a "Matter" just before the "Mind", yet to reach.

May be true. But the nature in the matter forces the mind to act. Now it depends on the mind how it reacts - accept or control. If the mind cannot control, then it has to accept and if it cannot accept, it gathers as stress.

The secret is the law of attraction which needs you to believe, so yes in a way it dose need your mind to believe it can come true.

Believing you can walk again (has happened to me).
Believing you can start my life again after hurdles and obstacles in the way.
just knowing you can do it, even when i might have some self doubt.
But never giving up on that dream and working towards it, keeping that belief.

So in a sense it is using your mind to keep your belief in yourself.
Which in the long term matters.

It has worked for me, more than i could have hopped for.

The SECRET is the law of attraction. So while not minding is fine - according to the law of attraction - you must think positively about what it is you WANT. For me - I have most everything I want and need - so "mind over matter" works quite well.

Namaste!
