I feel like playing around tonight and possibly coming up with a recipe. Since I'm low on groceries, I decided to make simple steak cuts and rice a roni with creamed corn. I plan on dicing up the steak into little cubes, sauteeing with white wine, teryaki sauce and garlic. How long do you think I'll have to fry 'em on the skillet? Do you think this will come out tasty. The rice a roni is teryiaki flavour too.

Dinner came out so well. Sliced the steak in slices, marinated in Merlo (red wine), cooked in oil, teriyaki, and garlic. Served on top of Rice a Roni, creamed corn & buttermilk biscuits. Thanks for the advice to the last one to answer. =)

Put the steak in the freezer for about an hour. Take it out and thin slice it, not cubed. Marinate in red wine. Red holds up better to beef and teriyaki. If you don't have red, white in a pinch. Saute in oil for about 4-5 min. Remove the steak and do the Rice-a-Roni thing. Saute the dry mix, add the steak and liquid, and cook per instructions. A PERFECT side is creamed corn. I've been CRAVING it for 2 days, now.

Be careful with garlic, any time you add garlic to the pan you need to watch it closely; if garlic gets too browned or burned it will be very bitter!

It can ruin a really elegant meal so always keep that in mind when using it.

I agree with the other poster about marinating the meat, it really gets the flavor deep into the meat. Leave the garlic in large pieces so it won't burn before the meat is done cooking. You can also try stir frying instead of sauteeing, maybe add a little fresh ginger if you have it. A good way to keep ginger is to chop & freeze it, use a garlic press to make seriously small pieces, or just throw it in a pot with some dirt & grow it, makes a beautiful plant and you always have some on hand.

I am not sure about the wine, I {prob the only person in the world lol} find that the wine cooked foods, no matter if it's meat or veggie gives an off taste...you can always add the wine in a glass!

You can add some bread {French bread is very easy to make} or even Yorkshire pudding {a bread} or popovers, all are easy to make and really make a statement!

OK, now I'm getting hungry too, what time is dinner?? tee hee!

When you get the urge, throw the rice a roni out. Leave the steak whole, marinate in garlic, herbs(thyme), sea salt just before serving and freshly cracked pepper. Just plain rice, saute with butter and oil, add shredded carrot, raisins and add two cups of chicken bouillon to 1 cup rice. Or instead of the rice, bake a potato or cut a potato or two(with the skin on) in half, then in quarters, then in eighths. Make a oil dressing with olive oil, add thyme, rosemary, oregano and sea salt. Mix generously over the potato pieces and roast slowly in the oven 325F for about 25 - 45 min. Toss them from time to time. Warm up the creamed corn and saute separately cubed red pepper. Enjoy!!!

Sounds great, but why not marinate the steak (in the fridge) during the day in the teryaki sauce and garlic, then you will only have to cook it for a couple of minutes each side. It will be so tender..........now I feel like a piece of steak.
Good luck!

Sounds pretty good but it might be salty.
