I don't think of evolution as a belief system. It is reality. We are evolving everyday individually and as a race.So are the other animals on the planet.Even the planet is evolving.
Creation and evolution can exist side by side and both be true.
God could of initiated the first spark of life thus enabling evolution to unfold as it has.A natural process that occurs here on earth.

Um, evolution isn't something you believe in, it's a fact. There are tons of things to back it up. Also, I don't think you get what evolution is. It happened over millions of years, not over night, so even though you don't see things changing, they are.

you have to define "evolution."
If you mean evolution = growth and change over time, then YES. That is not only a scientific fact that IS still going on today, but it's supported by the Bible. (Humans of all skin colors, heights, ages, hair textures came from two people)
If you mean evolution = dirt globbed itself together, made a cell, then those cells "just happened" to come together to form complex organisms, which got more and more complex just by chance, until one day an ape gave birth to a man, then it reproduced and *poof* mankind exists, and can now write theories of his origin.... then nah. That's a stretch. :-)

One does not have to "believe in" evolution. It's a fact.
And it still is going on today.
Haven't you been paying attention in school?
EDIT:
Peacetimewarror (sic):

Yes, that is a stretch since that's not how evolution works at all. Were you not paying attention in science class either?

My boy, the Earth is VERY slow. Growth and movement here is so tedious that we hardly notice a thing. Evolution takes millions of years to complete, as do a lot of other major happenings upon this planet (plate movement, the growing of a rainforest, etc.).

Why is this a question? Have you ever heard of the neanderthals. What more proof do you need? (I assume you need a little more) So why do you think scientists love to study fruit flys? It is because the live, reproduce, and die in a matter of a few weeks. It's a geneticists time machine! Mutations galore!
I like Brendan's answer, I totally forgot about that. here's a link to the news stories:

i believe in evolution. there is ample evidence that supports it. it isn't a theory. it is still going on today. but evolution isnt something that you can see happening in one day. it isn't pin-pointable. you have to look at it over hundreds even thousands and millions of years.

It's going on all the time in all species. 30 years ago, AIDS was a simian virus.
Last week, the news reported a chimp using a spear!

Prime example of ignorance. Do some research. Evolution is still going on today.
