It's based on a made up story. No, it's not true. Even if it was, who cares. If Jesus was married and had children that would in no way affect my beliefs that he is our Savior and was resurrected.

The gospels that the Da Vinci code uses for it's fictional storyline are real, and were found in 1945 in Nag Hammadi Egypt. They are Gnostic in nature and do talk a little about Jesus and Mary Magdalene's relationship. Two of them state that Jesus kissed Mary Magdalene often on her mouth. Some state that the other disciples were jealous of the relationship between Jesus and Mary. There is absolutely nothing in ANY of the Gnostic gospels to indicate that Jesus and Mary were married or had any children together. It is kinda like a movie that is "Based on a True Story." They use one true fact, then build this huge fictional story around it. The movie "Stigmata" does much the same thing with the Gospel of Thomas.

Another thing to note is that Magdalene was not Mary's last name, it was her title, Mary of Magdala. People are often referred to by their title in the Bible, not by their last names. If Jesus and Mary had been married, then Mary would have been referred to as Mary, wife of Jesus. That does not appear anywhere in the Bible, or in the Gnostic Gospels.

The Davinci code is a novel. It is not true. The author uses selected facts to give his books a bit more zest but they are still fiction. They are not intended to be true, they are novels.

There are a number of books which list the flaws in the book, which I find odd. Does anyone bother to show the flaws in Moby Dick? It too uses a lot of things that are true about life at sea at that time but was a novel. There is not a "great white whale" and never was.

If you are really concerned pick up any one of the debunking books and they should handle your concerns easily.

The book and movie is all based on conjecture and manipulating facts plus adding a whole lot of fiction. It is just one more way for Satan and his people to try to draw Christians away from their faith. People made millions off of it as well and hollywood is famous for knowing how to make money with contraversial subjects. Don't buy into it and don't worry about your friends say. Instead, focus on getting or maintaining a personal relationship with God. He will give you the strength you will need to face this challenge. One thing you might try is to do some research on your own. You will find that it is easily enough to prove that what is said in the book/movie is not true.

no she is not, she is a follower of the love of Christ, not sexuall love but agape love. The world knows nothing about this type of love, because we are selfish creatures, who always looking for something. God's love is the exact opposite of human's and because of this they can make staements, write books, and make movies that Christ ahd a wife and children. Christ was bout His Father's business, and all He came for was to saved the world from a firey hell. Teach them teachings on the Kingdom, not religion. Healing, and delivering, feeding, loving, setting examples for us, so that we can do those things, and do even greater things than Christ did. He said greater works shall you do. How can this be so? Because we have Him in us and He's there. His blood was to be shed for the world s o how can Jesus get yoked up with a sinful woman, and Jesus was without sin. If he would have laid with Mary, sin would have enter Him. That was not the plan, because Christ only came to do what the Father willed, and He did. So stand on the truth and learn to lean on God, not man.

That book is fiction, based on the research in Holy Blood, Holy Grail. Some people think that Mary Magdeline was the wife of Jesus; others, of course, do not. I'd suggest reading the research and deciding for yourself (the actual research, and not the novel).

See, this is why Catholicism is getting such a bad rap, because people don't know their Faith. Jesus did NOT have a wife or child. The daVinci Code is a fictional book that is basically blasphemy. Study your faith and learn why you are who you are. Catholics have nothing to duck their head about. We are the first Christians and the Devil will use anything to get people away from the Church because we receive the Real body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus, The Lord. He hates him and he hates us. Do not listen to him.

--What does the Bible show?

--The DaVinci Code is fiction, and a slanderous presentation---even though the author , if I understand correctly presented it as fact!

--This is a scenario with Jesus & Mary Magdaline--Please think of the formal manner between Jesus & Mary--he even asked her not to touch him innocently--please note:

(John 20:1-2) “20 On the first day of the week Mary Mag´da·lene came to the memorial tomb early, while there was still darkness, and she beheld the stone already taken away from the memorial tomb. 2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, for whom Jesus had affection, and she said to them: “They have taken away the Lord out of the memorial tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him. . .”

--Note she said they have taken the Lord, NOT my husband or my dear one, or lover! Further

(John 20:11-13) “11 Mary, however, kept standing outside near the memorial tomb, weeping. Then, while she was weeping, she stooped forward to look into the memorial tomb 12 and she viewed two angels in white sitting one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they said to her: “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them: “They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have laid him.””

--Note again he said to her "woman ......." she said : ....they have taken my Lord....." Further:

(John 20:15-18) “. . .” 16 Jesus said to her: “Mary!” Upon turning around, she said to him, in Hebrew: “Rab·bo´ni!” (which means “Teacher!”) 17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’” 18 Mary Mag´da·lene came and brought the news to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord!” and that he said these things to her.”

--Note again, he calls her Mary , does not touch even in an endearing way--that a husband would do if his wife was crying. THEN SHE SAID Rabboni or teacher, not husband etc. ---Then in a straightforward way please let me go my way to my God & Father!

THEN SHE said when she found the disciples --I FOUND MY HUSBAND---Absolutely not!---she said "I have seen the Lord"

--If you want the truth about Jesus life, why do you not go to the only source of truth about him, the Bible? Rather than take to heart any of the disgusting stuff that shows contempt not only for Christ but also for His God & Father.

The DaVinci Code was not written as fact. It was written as fiction. The movie was made as fiction only for your entertainment. Why people want to make something else out of it when it was clearly fiction is beyond reason. God Bless.

No the author made up the story and some fanatics latched onto the idea. Believe the Bible, not Dan Brown.
