Yes.
Put in the XP disc and when your computer boots off it, tell it to format your HDD, because you can't upgrade into Vista so you'll have to loose all your information.

Yes, but it will take some time, effort and work. The first thing to do is purchase a copy of XP - make sure it's not an upgrade. Next, find out exactly what hardware you have in the computer - video card, controllers, sound card, ethernet card, drives, everything. Download XP drivers for each of them and burn those on a CD. Hold on to that for later. You may have problems because there is already some new hardware that won't work with XP, so make sure you have drivers for everything.
In order to actually do this, you have to format your drive. This will erase everything - all your software, all your data, everything that came with the computer. It will leave the drive completely empty and the computer won't work at all until you put an OS on it. It may also void your warranty. So before you get to this point, be sure you're ready and have all the discs and drivers in hand. Insert your XP CD and boot off of it. Follow the instructions to get to the Repair console. Once you're in the Repair Console, format your drive. When it finishes, boot off the XP CD again and follow the instructions for installing XP. You may need your driver disc, so have it at hand at this point.
After XP is installed, connect to Windows Update and update it. This may take several hours and several reboots, but make sure you get all of the updates installed. This really is critical. Part of the reason they made so many changes in Vista is because XP is much more vulnerable to viruses and trojans, and these patches will help protect you. After you finish, install your applications.
My personal recommendation is to give Vista a chance - give it about 30 days. Play with it and get to know it. I didn't much like it at first, but I had to use it because there weren't any XP drivers for my hard drive controllers on my machine. When I tried to install XP it insisted I didn't have a hard drive. Anyway, I didn't like Vista at first but it's really growing on me now that I'm getting used to it and learning my way around. Give it some time, because you'll have to switch eventually. It will also give you better protection against viruses and other harmful programs. Replacing Vista with XP will cost at least $100 more to purchase XP, and if you run into any problems with the install you'll have to pay at least that much to have a professional try to fix it for you. So give Vista a chance - I know lots of people hated switching from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95, and others hated switching to XP. You adjust once you figure out how things work, and Vista has some nice points, like the look and feel, the sidebar, and others.
