It's the stereotype that all goths are satan worshippers.

I have always wondered about the Goth life style. I had the opportunity to shear with a very delightful young lady of The Goth persuasion, and learned that Goth's are often Christians as well as the rest of us. I would never,"diss" you for being Goth. All that matters is that you know Jesus as your LORD, and Savior.
God Bless You !

I would say its probably because goths wear black - black clothes, black lipstick. black everything (my teenage neice is going through a goth period at high school right now).
Christians associate black with death - which is probably where the thinking that goths are devil worshippers comes from. After all black is an "evil" color and satan is evil, right? .
Its not a logical connection - but then again - whoever said christians were logical?
----------------------------------------------
Heres what I found from the link below
The public incorrectly commonly associates Goths with Marilyn Manson. 10 "Manson publicly presents himself as a follower of the Church of Satan... He was ordained a priest in the Church of Satan by the [late] founder, Anton LaVey. Many fans refer to him as the Rev. Marilyn Manson." 9 (Actually, Manson is not a follower of that Church; he was simply appointed as a Reverend within the Church by its founder, Anton LaVey.) From this Satanic connection, the perception has grown that Goths are frequently linked to Satanism. There are a few Satanists who are also Goths, but they are rare.

dont lose faith! not all christians are intolerant of goths. i have to admit that when i see someone dressed in goth my first impression isnt always a good one. Sorry! i am a christian and i try not to be judgemental but i am also human.
i recently went to a christian concert and there was a huge group of people there dressed in goth. i was surprised, i know i shouldnt have been but i was. anyways keep the faith.
the concert was hawk nelson...it was a lot of fun

In all fairness to Christians, I think it has to do with the secular perception of Goths as being weird, not a religious one. You can also make the case that it is all the dark imagery also, which might be a religious reason.

some christians think goths are devil worshippers , big difference.we may know its harmless expression but religious extremists will be the end of the world eventually. go out of your way to be polite as pie to the stares and maybe they will see the black light.lol ive dragged some christian friends to punk shows and opened thier eyes, its all venting, nobody wants anyone to get hurt in the pit. just exhausted.

What the heck is a goth
Is it a lifestyle....I don't dis anyone or hate.
I may not approve of other type lifestyles...but I am a Christan...and I don't hate anyone.....and believe me...I have been put to the test....and passed with flying colors.
I don't hate my ex husband...and he almost murdered me.
It took me months to heal.
I have had HELL come to me....and I KNOW I don't hate.
See being a Christan is sooooo great. Because I have SEEN God take revenge on them....in HIS TIMING.
The Bible says....He is the God of vengeance.
Yikes I would hate to be on the wrong side of GOD.
