I was rasied at a catholic church while reading the bible a thought ran across my mind: Who created God?? Why are there so many logical explnations for everthing that make alot more sence then the way the bible discribed it. so i think i'm turning into an atheist and it seems alot easier to except the logical answers rather than the biblical answers. Is anyone in the same boat as me?

Who created God?? Why are there so many logical explnations for everthing that make alot more sence then the way the bible discribed it.

"I am the beginning and the end. The alpha and omega"

-God.

God was not created. He is the creator, not a created being.

I think you need to get out of your boat and start walking out on the water in faith through Jesus. :)

It's not about religion or stories, it's about a relationship with Jesus.

Talk to Jesus about it before you deny him. Sincerely.

If you examine the bible with logic you will end up empty handed. God is supernatural. He can't be logically explained. Examine the Bible with faith and God will see you through.

I am an EX-Christian so in that respect we are in the same boat. I didn't become an Atheist though, I converted to a religion that made more sense to me. For many Atheism is the right choice. Best of luck.

Nope, evolution is a lot more illogical. One questioner asked if a dictionary could be made by the explosion of a printing press? Of course that would be ridiculous. Just like believing a couple of pieces of matter can become persons, animals, etc. given enough time. Even Darwin concluded that their was no proof that his theory was correct.

But I understand you problem reconciling life with your faith. Maybe your problem is Catholicism and it's doctrines rather than scripture. Stop letting them tell you how to understand things and start reading and letting Yah give you understanding. That is far more beneficial and there is a lot of wisdom to come in to.

Hi! Catholic here.

That would depend on how you define logic. To me, God is both logical and loving.

Why is water the only liquid that freezes from the top down? Because God made it that way so fish can live in winter climates. Why does mother's milk begin to produce antibodies within half an hour after her baby's been exposed to a virus? Because God made her that way so her child would survive. Why are pigs and catfish capable of devouring mass quantities of toxins and we are not? Because God made them that way so they can clean up after our messes.

None of this could possibly be an accident.

My wife was raised Catholic, but she got over it.

Atheism is not simply the absence of God, it is the absence of ANY belief in ANY higher power than yourself. Just because God no longer makes sense to you, there are still MANY paths to explore like Hindu, Buddhism, Wicca, Taoism, and others.

Give them a look, learn a few things, and do whatever feels right to YOU.

Many atheists were raised to believe in God, the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and the like. A lot of us have been there in embracing rationality.

Please, before you do anything that can make a huge difference for you, think with your heart instead of your head. Talk to God. And, look at whether or not you had a personal relationship with God or not. It doesn't sound to me like you did. I am not talking about believing any particular religion. Most of us have been brought up in one religion or another but some of us have made the choice to step away from the religion and closer to God.

Well, I have doubted my faith many times. If you feel that changing your religious stance is what is right for you, do it.
