Going through my email, I discovered I had "WON" a small fortune.

I feel this is a scam attempt, and wondered what to do to follow up.

I would appreciate any helpful advice in this matter.

Thanks

No, afraid you're right - it's a scam. Use this link to report it.

Be very careful about opening emails like this as some conceal browser hijackers and other nasty stuff in images. To be on the safe side, turn image loading off in your email settings.

Give them all your personal information including bank details.

That will prove beyond a doubt that they can, will and have taken all you own and put you so far into debt that if you worked for a hundred years you'd never pay it all!

The ONLY way you can win is for you to have either PAID FOR a ticket or you were entered into a draw having personally and physically filled out an application or free ticket.

You cannot win a Lottery if you have not entered it.

These are ALL scams and you should delete the email from your in box then delete it from the deleted items as well!

That address doesn't seem to exist, is it typed right?

The address its self looks like a fake site, msn+gov+uk? since when is MSN part of the government?

If you didn't enter the competition you haven't won. Ask them how is it possible to win a competition you didn't enter!!!! Sounds like a HUGE scam to me. Be careful!!!!

msn are nothing to do with the government so its a scam

A simple rule of thumb - any email you dont recognise or arent expecting delete without opening.
