I'm a Hindu, but I'd like to hear what other Hindus thought this means. I'd also be curious what Christians think of it. Christians have told me the Hindu deities have no power. That I'm just praying to an object made of stone. But if Lord Ganesh has no power, then how could His deity drink milk? It can't be a delusion or hypnosis; because I saw it on film.

I thought of the miracle as many others have... that God was just giving us a gentle prod with a smile, reminding us that He is still involved with our everyday.

MILK MIRACLE..

To many Hindu worshippers and others, this was the result of the deities coming down from Heaven to accept the worshippers offerings, by drinking the milk. Many said that it was a day when God finally realised that they had to accept the offerings, and thus, the statues of these deities started sucking up the milk. Worshippers just believed it was a miracle, and to many, this convinced them that God did exist. To many worshippers, this was the act of God, nothing to do with Science. But the scientists gave a reasonable scientific theory that could have answered the question of this miracle.

BUT, Scientists worldwide deemed it as simple theory of science, that of the milk was actually being absorbed by the statues, and not "sucked". They believed that what actually happened was that the molecules in the marble's rough surface created a CAPILLARY channel action, which sucks in the droplets quite rapidly. These then spread into a very thin layer which is difficult to see. I also agree with this scientific point..

I've never seen it, but always remember that it may turn out to be wrong. Science is strong. Fortunately, Hinduism doesn't conflict. Unlike arrogant Semitic religions, we can admit that we made a minor error. True Hinduism is following the way of the brahmins, the code of conduct that wise men have compiled. Hinduism is not a creed, a set of propaganda, at least at its core. Like science, none of its set in stone. And to those retards that think the idol has any meaning:shut up. You are ignorant. The idles only represent god you fools.
P.S. Ganesha is my favorite god, he's so funny and yet powerful at the same time. The stories of the universe in his belly, his love of sweets, they are great.

You fundies out their need to respect your elders. Hinduism is the oldest widely practiced religion in the world.

This was a phenomenon of surface tension in liquids. most people believed it as a miracle, since it caught the attention of the devote how was not so highly learned. As he was alighted during the incident he told it to everybody and the incident was called a miracle. when the learned scientist explained the principle of surface tension the miracle was understood and resolved.

I think that it is utterly fascinating. I've seen footage of it. I was a child when I first saw the footage, and it did not reek of anything evil to me. I thought, wow, how amazing. I felt then that it was something Holy. Just because you are not Christian does not mean that you are wrong.

If you saw it on film, then it must be real!

EDIT: Ok, I just watched some footage of this on the internet. I find it very, VERY interesting that people were paying money to feed the milk to the statues.
