anxiety could be one of the reasons. stress, love, anxiety, family, anything like that can influence dreams. even hunger.
one time i went to bed hungry, and i had a dream that my family HAD to reach the oreo-caramel lake before nightfall, but that a dude was in our way, so we had to kill him so we could get to the lake and eat so we wouldn't die.......the lake looked really good though!!!!!!!

When one is dreaming they are not in a deep sleep.
Watch what you're eating before you go to bed. If your body has to focus on digesting, you won't be able to sleep too deeply.
Also, watch your intake of caffeine and/or alcohol. These also contribute to shallow levels of sleep.
Finally, although I'm sure there's many more reasons, you don't have to have a lot of anxiety to dream. The simplist thing that wasn't resolved while you were awake can contribute to you dreaming a lot.
Sweet dreams!

Yes. Stress, anxiety and major change cause vivid dreams. Keep a dream journal. It's fun and weird to read them later in life.

It's partly age, honey; we really seem to get a masss of hormones around that age and that's quite a thing. Also, heavy meals late at night do it too. Eat maybe just an apple or a brown-bread ham sandwitch forty minutes to an hour before bed and that will almost cut out the dreams...... And don't be too worried- it's a sign of intelligence. And do a little walking last thing at night, even around the house.

some of the other reasons are foods you eat especially if you eat them an hour or so before bed - if you must eat that close to bed then have something like crackers and soup - spicy foods will trigger dreams - I love spicy foods they are my favorite whether its curries or spanish / latin foods. I always eat a good 3 to four hours before bedtime though. If you take any drugs they will definately give vivid dreams

Dreaming all comes from the subconscious. If your under a lot of stress, its most likely your dream world will be very colorful,as dreams paint pictures of our innermost thoughts, fears, current feelings, and needs. What you eat before bed does not cause wierd dreams as many say, unless your popping some form of hallucinogen before sleepy time...

Yes, they definitely can; it is a very common side effect. I have been on antidepressants for several months, and at first they did cause me to have very strange, wild dreams. The dreams may or may not go away, it depends on how your body works with the medication. Antidepressants, while often very helpful, have a lot of unpleasant side effects.

A question I would ask is if you recently tried or took up smoking (tobacco). Nicotine is a powerful drug that tends to intensify dreams, which could be good or bad, depending on your general state of mind. If you are smoking, stop, especially since you are so young.

Anxiety is the most likely suspect, unless you are using drugs.
