If you want to pay for the service, there is Ancestory.com. However, sometimes if you just type in the name you get a hit.

I recently found my great-grandfather and then all the way back, by typing in his name, and searching through all the links. I actually didn't find him, but my great-grandmother, and then him. It was actually pretty cool.

Below are some of the places I've used. Please realize, I think the relative has to be deceased for a certain time frame before some of the records are made public.

Have fun. I recently traced one side of the tree back to 1635, and then back to Yorkshire in England. It was wonderful!
