Just add some warm water and it will soften right up. Milk is not a good thing to give any dog. They have such a hard time digesting it and it could cause and upset stomach.

All your pup needs is dog food and lots of clean water.

Milk is not good for any dog so please don't give it to yours. I have four small dogs all chihuahua's. Toy breeds often have a lot more problems with their teeth then larger breeds. I feed my four chi's Innova dry dog food and they handle it fine. It's small and triangular shaped. My smallest dog is 3 pounds, very tiny but eats the food right up. I prefer to feed them dry food because I think it will help keep their teeth cleaner. I also brush their teeth at least once a week. Try a small type of dry dog food. If he's still having a hard time you can soak it in water but only add a little bit remember you can always add more water if it's not soft enough but you can't get the water out if you put too much in and it's mush. Good luck.

You can buy dog food that is very small. It's good for your dog
to have hard food for their teeth. But if your concerned, before
you feed your dog, put some hot water on his hard food, and
let it sit for awhile, check it after ten minutes, and you will
know if you want it to be softer or not. I've done this with
puppies and when they get sick to. I hope you try this.

I recently switched my dog foods, and it took several weeks for her to have normal stools even though I changed it over slowly. If you're really concerned though, a call to the vet wouldn't hurt and doesn't cost a thing!

try and get the very small dry food for smaller breeds,or put a bit of water in it to soften it. or mix it with a few cooked vegies, and some of the water they were cooked in.

i mix with water,, and give table scraps (don't want to hear it about them not being good for dogs. my oldest dog lived to be 16 and he was a shepherd mix) what do u think was fed to them before dry dog food?
they get carrots ect chicken, beef, and turkey. ALL VERY WELL PICKED!
I don't give pig... ham or pork as some dogs it won't settle well and make them sick.

Moisten it with a little warm water. Don't use milk, it will give your dog the runs. Hope this helps!

I personally soak in home made broth, when I've got a dog who's having issues.

Just soak it in some warm water until it’s the softness you want. Works like a charm.
