First you need to get some info from your older living family members. You should be able to get info about your grandparents from your parents and about your great grandparents form your grandparents or their siblings. If they are not living-find their obituraries for a listing of parents, siblings, and children.http://www.ancestry.com has a lot of census and Social Security Death Index info to add further info to what you get from your older relatives.

A good source is to start with family heirlooms, like old Bibles, or old documents like old birth certificates- often they will have names of parents. Try to talk to the oldest living relatives, and write down everything they tell you, all the names that they can remember, etc.

Good luck.
