I've had a cold most of the week and sinus infection on top of that and am currently on anitbiotics. Don't ask how (I can be a hypochondriac) but I got afraid that I could have meningitis.

I don't think it's possible but I'm having a litle trouble seeing (think my eyes are tired, and will take my contacts out in a minute), the back of my head down into my neck on the right side hurts and I can feel the lymph node back there swollen, and I just feel weird on my feet. Is this all just a part of the other stuff?

Sorry to bother you all with this, but I really need you all to tell me that I'm just being unreasonable and hypochondriac right now. Thanks so much!

can't really go to doctor because it's 7:30 on a Friday night, and I don't want to go to the emergency room for nothing.

Sinus infections can cause neck pain. They can also cause sight disturbances. Usually a cold won't cause meningitis. The lymph nodes could be swollen from the sinus infection also. If you are really worried, call your doctor back and tell him what is going on. Never hurts to be concerned with things. More then likely, there is nothing wrong, just the sinus infection getting the better of you, but you can never be sure. Go ahead and call if you feel like you need to.

If you can't touch your chin to your chest, and you normally can, that is a symptom of meningitis. Sounds like the sinus infection is just getting the best of you.

Well, neck pain is a symptom of meningitis. If you think you have it, you should go to the emergency room.

Eh... relies upon the variety you're saying it. yet maximum in all hazard no longer. i'm 18, and a 50 year old guy got here as much as me as we talk and informed me "you have a perfect smile." It replaced into rather flattering and brightened my day - and that i did no longer think of he replaced into creepy, basically being marvelous. :)

If you aren't willing to go to th er, then you at least need to try torelax (take something like tylenol pm if you have to) and get some rest . maybe this will take your mind off of being sick and you can see how you feel in the morning.

What is stopping you from seeing a doctor? Perhaps you're not being unreasonable. You can explain your symptoms, and he can tell you what to do.

Does your neck hurt when moving it up and down or side to side? I saw on some show that if it hurts when moving it up and down it is a symptom of menengitis, not side to side.
