I don't know, if they lived in the South, probably. Mine weren't. Not all slave owners were horrible people though. It was a way of life handed down through generations, it sounds cliche' to say, but they really didn't think it was wrong. Some "masters" treated them as family. You can't believe Hollywood's version of it.
