Give him time and understanding. There are times you can't do much. He may need to work this out himself. He will, as soon as he realizes people think no differently of him. Just be your own sweet self whenever he is acting moody.

Insecurity is a very powerful weapon. Some people get so depressed that they don't see how their depression affects others...through a eyes of depression that's all they can see (negativity) and it's hard to remove it.

But here's a few that might help...
1: Do you know someone who has braces his age? It would be nice to meet a friend who is in the same situation.
2: Show how you love him....nu ff said..it's a hard path..
3:There might be something more to these braces that you don't know and he has yet to deal with it himself. It never hurts to find out...

Self positive image is something that only he can bring himself and no one else..not even his loved ones...once he finds it himself and likes himself for who he is...it would be indestructible and not even you can brake it....best of luck...

Just keep hanging around with him. I'm sure he will appreciate u spending time together. I've got to say, getting braces is nothing to cry over. He should be glad that he can afford braces because alot of people can't. Give him a little time to see how he will react. If he continues to trip over something as simple as that I would probably just give him some space because it will start to annoy u.

tell him the braces look fine, plus let him no how good of a smile he will have when they come off!! And act normal about the braces, acting different around him will tend to make him think you dont like him because of the braces even though you dont have a problem with it.

You could get him a small little bag full of braces-safe foods like suger free gum, but honestly braces may hurt but they normally don't make people depressed

Intract with him normally, be pleasanst and cheerful to him ,Assure him that you would stand by him in times of difficult times... And ask him to share his feelings and concrens with you if he doesn't mind..so that you can really help him to sort out the nagging issues
Hope this helps

I would say do something that he loves to do like if he enjoys basketball take him to a basketball game or if he has a hobby he does, do it with him. Its little things such as that that can cheer anyone up

compliment him on the way he looks, but try not to bring up his braces so often, for example compliment him on his smile [without mentioning his braces exactly]
