I have just passed my test too,
I would advise you not to have your p plates on.
Other drivers beep you because they know you are a new driver,
I decided that I would rather be beeped cos they thought I was ignorant lol !!
Is there a route you have to do all the time ??
Learn that like the back of your hand before you drive elsewhere.
I'm guessing that you are stalling as you have a different car to the one you learned in.
I don't know if you are aware but all clutches are different, which would explain the stalling,
Do you know how many drivers that have been on the road for 30 years that make mistakes, loads I can tell you.
Stand at a roundabout for 5 minutes and you'll see what I mean.
If you couldn't drive, you wouldn't have passed your test.

Put 'P' plates on for a start.
That way other road-users know you are inexperienced and a potential risk to them. They will not try to rush you or put you under too much pressure so you make mistakes.
As for the stalling and leaving indicators running, the stalling could be your seating position rather than not being in control.
The indicators normally cancel themselves these days so if they stay on longer than they should then i wouldn't really worry too much about it!
Your man is right, keep going out on your own and let your confidence in your ability grow.
Just don't get OVERconfident as this could lead to more than a few little mistakes.

Hello, don't be put off by anyone, you passed didn't you..
so someone believes in you...
I passed my driving test when i was 46, 3rd time and it's made me a better driver because the more practise you have the more aware you are of what's around you. Everyone stalls even after yrs and the indicator been left on these are things that will stop after a time, don't worry.
Your partner believes in you and he's right, get out as much as you can on your own it will build your confidence. It's only after you pass your test that you really learn how to drive....
Well done! happy driving...

put the plates on, it will help you. i suggest you see if you can get on a pass plus driving course.
when i passed my driving test in the 1980, p plates weren't invented and i had to drive like someone who had been driving years.
a few ago i had a new car and was forever stalling it at traffic lights, yes i felt the same way you do, but remember more you panic the longer it will take you to get started.
this is what i did, put the car right as you would for parking, then switch on the engine, into first gear and hand break off, away you go, but say thank you to the car behind for waiting, believe me it take the stress out of situation and makes you feel good

Use the green plates, then you won't get beebed at. People will keep their distance a bit more, and understand if it all goes wrong, just like a learner driver. With no plates, people will think you are an idiot, pissed up, or just lame, and understandably get peeved off. Do the right thing, use the plates. Ditch them when your ready.

your partner is absolutely spot on,don't worry about the others, carry on driving on your own and you'll see the improvments in time,is just practice like:swimming, riding a bike, etc.regarding road rage try to ignore them, they have done the same mistakes like you{maybe more}but they have tiny brain and short memory.good luck and take care outthere!

don't worry after a few more weeks you'll have all your confidence, and you'll not be bothered about what other drivers think or whether they beep at you or not, just keep getting out there on your own and don't feel embarrassed you'll be surprised how many experienced drivers make silly mistakes or stall their cars

Put your "P" plates on, it will save you a lot of hassle and most other drivers will only raise their eyebrows and think
"God another bloody woman driver to put up with"
but at least they will know you have an excuse.
We all of us had to learn once, and we all made a few co-ck ups.
By the way tell your fella not to be a chicken!!!!!!!
Good luck please try to stay away from Margate.
