I know of the "Great Banquet" in the latter chapters of Revelation, and references to a banquet in the Gospels and in Song of Solomon. However, you seem to be refering to a specific group or a specific event in your church. So I looked up "Great Banquet" and found this:

http://www.greatbanquet.com/

Still, I'm not clear why you need to write a letter or what the purpose of this letter is. Please provide more details. If you can't, ask the person who assigned you this letter in the first place.

Addedum: okay, I did a little more research, and found out that some people are asked to write "agape letters" to their "sleepers", which I imagine means certain participants in their church's Great Banquet. Since "agape" means "unconditional love", I imagine this letter gives loving, supportive words to the recipient, such as "I'm so glad you're participating in this!" But I'm guessing.

I put into a Yahoo! search "great banquet" "agape letter" and "church", and came up with this:
http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkmi6vehF9NUARC5XNyoA?p=%22great+banquet%22+church+%22agape+letters%22&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-501&x=wrt

Apparently agape letters might also accompany agape gifts. Here's a webpage:

And here's a search with only "agape letters":
http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu.WHv.hFOeIAycJXNyoA?p=%22agape+letters%22&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-501&x=wrt

I suppose you could research and then model your letter upon one you find. However, it might be more meaningful to ask the person who gave you the assignment what to do, and then to write from your heart whatever words of support you have for your recipient. Good luck and God bless you all!

P.S. I've found some sample letters here, if you want to look:
